Sesamin, a compound found in black sesame, regulates the synthesis of a hormone-like substance called Prostaglandin E1. Prostaglandin E1 is a natural inflammation suppression hormone-like substance, reducing the risk of the degeneration of soft tissues that can lead to joint problems. Research shows that sesamin can prevent osteoarthritis, joint pain, and swollen joints.
